This right here - "Not acceptable for a Californian who takes her body weight in vitamins every day. No is just scarcity consciousness. Unseen forces can be vanquished with the right help" - made me laugh, as another Californian who takes her body weight in vitamins per day. And, "no is just scarcity consciousness" has got to be a core mantra permeating every self-realization oriented seminar and session I attended for decades. "No" is just an invitation to get creative, right? Wonderful stuff. I have responsible adult things to do today but I read your new post first thing, just like sneaking into a cupboard and opening Christmas presents days before Christmas. My California heart thanks yours :-)
I see you. I have also spent many an hour looking at (in my case) Breton real estate porn (from the mouth-watering longères to the horror of houses that haven't been updated since the 70s). And my sister-in-law and her (now) husband bought a 150+ year old place with a gigantic back yard in Hillion. The neighboring, abandoned house that nearly abuts theirs would put even Miss Havisham to shame and has an enormous (and fully overgrown) back yard that we could essentially join up with sis-in-law's to form a true family compound. It's just that there are no longer any inheritors and the notary who has control mysteriously blocks anyone's interest in it. Maybe one day...
But this is actually about you, and I know that the story you are graciously sharing with us is about much more than the oddities of the Northern French real estate market. I'm excited to read your upcoming chapters, but also happy to know that, as you foreshadow, you've landed and rebuilt in more ways than one. <3

Welcome aboard!
